Okay, say I'm working on a (numberical) report, and it doesn't balance the first time. I run the numbers again, and it DOES balance the second time (or maybe the third, whatever).
I now have a compulsion to go back to my adding machine tape, and see what I did wrong the first time. I HAVE to know what the difference was.
What does that say about me? (OCD much?)
I don't always check to see what the difference was, but I do have to get the right answer at least twice before I accept it. Usually three times.
ReplyDeleteI am exactly that kind of OCD. It's not that I made the mistake, per se, just that I really want to know what it was.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jess, I do the same thing when I weigh myself. I don't accept what the scale says unless it says it three times. But this is probably not OCD as much as it is DENIAL....
